Week 8 and 9

Thank you to all the parents and caregivers that made the time to come and see Shannon and myself for a parent teacher interview.  We are so glad to share in your child's learning and celebrate their successes.

This week we are consolidating work on a few areas that show some gaps in the children's knowledge.

We will be solidifying the learning of conversions in Mathematics and jumping into Area.  The children have enjoyed investigating the area of different shapes and we will conclude the term with a mini test on these two things.

Dance Fever will invite all parents to come and watch their children's dance moves on the last week of term.  It will be Tuesday the 23 June at the school.  The Year 6 group have really enjoyed their Dance Fever lessons and it has shown in their enthusiasm to dance and move their bodies.

Portfolios will be sent home on Wednesday 24 June. Within the Term 2 portfolio, the Semester 1 report card will be included. This report is a summary of the results achieved and effort ratings for all subject areas.

This portfolio will be yours to keep and unlike in Term 1 or Term 3, they do not need to be returned to school after the holidays. Due to the significant amount of work in each Portfolio, we have decided to create a new portfolio each Semester. This portfolio will include samples of work from Religion, English, Mathematics and Integrated Units (History, Geography, Science, Technology, The Arts etc). Accompanying the samples of work are the student learning feedback sheets, which the students can describe what their expected learning was and how they achieved the result received.
