Cross Country Carnival Information

 Prep –Yr 6 Cross Country Carnival

 

Monday 30^th March 2015

 

Dear Parents/Guardians,

 

On Monday 30^th March 2015, all students in Prep to Year 6 will take part in our annual Cross Country Carnival.  The main emphasis of the day is

 

“Participation,

Team Spirit and

Challenging Ourselves!”

 

It is also an integral part of our School’s Fitness Program.  We welcome you, your family and friends to come along to support the students and their team.

9:10am-9:40am	Prep (fun lap = 600m)
9:40am-10:10am	Students Born 2003 (2 laps = 2km) -U12
10:10am-10:40	Students Born 2004 (2 laps = 2km) -U11
Lunch
11:30-12:00pm	Students Born 2005 (1 laps = 1km) -U10
12:00-12:30pm	Students Born 2006 (1 laps = 1km) -U9
12:30pm-1:00pm	Students Born 2007 (1 laps = 1km) -U8
1:00pm-1:30pm	Students Born 2008 (1 lap = 600m) -U7

PTO for further Cross Country Information

 

 

 

A few things to remember:

• Bring your hat, sunscreen, a drink and something to sit on.
• Wear your house colours to show your support (house colours for new students are available from the office).
• There will be a coffee van at the side of the hall for light refreshments.

 

For the students’ safety and the efficient running of events:

·         The school gates near the crossings (within the school grounds) will be closed from 8:30am-1:30pm, as our Prep-6 events use this as part of the course. To ensure the safety of the children please park in the Parent’s Car park so the gates can be left closed.

• Students are not permitted to wear spikes. Please wear sport shoes!
•  Jewellery, including all types of earrings must not be worn.
• Students must wear their School Sports Uniform. A plain coloured t-shirt to support your house is allowed.
• Spectators are not permitted on the ovals or near the course markers and must stay behind the barriers.
• Spectators are not permitted to run with competitors.
• Parents and spectators are reminded that photography and videotaping is limited to personal use only.

 

Other information:

• After your child has raced they will be expected to return to class.

• Any student who is not able to participate must bring a Parent/Guardian note to their class teacher. If they do not provide a note they will be expected to participate.

 

Greenbank District Cross Country Carnival	Catholic Zones Cross Country Carnival
Thursday 7th May, 2015	Thursday 28th May 2015
Students race in their age groups. Born 2003-2006 Students who place 1st -4th at our school carnival will be selected to participate in the Greenbank Districts Cross Country Carnival.   5th and 6th Place will be reserves.	Students race in their age groups. 8,9,10,11 and 12 years 5 Students for each age group will be selected to participate in the Catholic Zones Carnival. The team will be selected on their school carnival race times.
